Adam Agati solo on Jekyll and Hyde (Marcus Miller Band)

Great player!

Bio

Adam began playing music by ear at the age of 12. His early influences were the blues and indie rock. Inspired by his high school music teacher, Adam developed an interest in improvised music in his teens, and by the age of 16 he was playing music professionally throughout the New England Area. In 2001 Adam enrolled at Berklee College of Music on scholarship. While at Berklee he was taught by world-class musicians including Joe Lovano, Hal Crook and Mick Goodrick. Under their guidance he received many awards during his tenure at Berklee for outstanding performance and musicianship.

In 2005 Adam moved to Nashville, TN where he quickly became involved in the city’s abundant music scene. Nashville proved to be a good decision for Adam as it allowed him to pursue many facets of the industry— including work in the studio and television, touring, and teaching. Despite this success, Adam decided to leave the comfort of Tennessee in 2011 for the fast-pace pulse of New York City. He immediately began playing with several local artists and bands, as well as delving into writing/development for many up-and-coming acts.

Adam has had the pleasure to share the stage and or studio with many wonderful artists and musicians such as Marcus Miller, Ludacris, Lalah Hathaway, Archie Shepp, Marc Broussard, Phil Wilson, Mary Mary, Angie Stone, James Genus, Ronnie Laws, Keith Carlock, Larry Graham, Omar Hakim, Derrek Phillips, Mikki Ekko, Jeff Coffin, Eric Roberson, Adam Nitti, Marcus Finnie, Alice and the Glass Lake, and The Loudhorns. He has played at venues and festivals such as The North Sea Jazz Festival, Bonnaroo Music Festival, The Montreux Jazz Festival, The Ryman Auditorium, Moscow House of Music, The Jakarta Jazz Festival, The NCAA Final Four Big Dance Concert Series, Turner Field, Angel Stadium, Billboard Live, Red Bull Sound Stage, Beat Bash, Scarface Re-Release party, Oslo Live and many others. Adam was the guitarist in the house band for the reality series 'Nashville' on Fox. He was Miley Cyrus’ guitar tutor during the filming of the Hannah Montana Movie. He has also performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Adam Agati has accomplished a lot in his young music career. His deep knowledge of history, his interest in many genres, and his authentic lyrical writing style have helped him to develop a unique and compelling sound. It is clear that Adam is a growing voice in the music community, commanding attention through his writing and playing as both a sideman and a leader.
